Effective Date: September 29, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the GradeMyCar website at grademycar.com, the GradeMyCar phone app, and the GradeMyCar Chrome extension (together, the "Service"). By using the Service or buying credits, you agree to these Terms.
GradeMyCar provides reliability grades, deal scores, estimated lifespan figures, commonly reported issues, and safety and recall information for vehicles. Basic grades are free. Premium reports are unlocked with report credits or an unlimited plan.
All grades, scores, lifespan figures, and issue lists are estimates based on model-level data. They describe a make and model in general, not the specific vehicle you are looking at. They are not a vehicle inspection, vehicle history report, appraisal, or warranty.
A specific vehicle's condition depends on its maintenance, accident history, and use. Before buying any vehicle, we recommend a pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic and a vehicle history report. Safety ratings and recall information come from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Always confirm open recalls for a specific vehicle by VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls.
You are solely responsible for any decision to buy, sell, or finance a vehicle. GradeMyCar is not liable for any loss resulting from reliance on information provided by the Service.
If you are not satisfied, email support@grademycar.com within 14 days of purchase. We will refund any unused credits from that purchase. Credits that have already been used, and unlimited plans that have already started, are not refundable, except where required by law. If a premium report failed to load because of an error on our side, contact us and we will restore the credit.
You agree not to:
We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms.
The GradeMyCar name, logo, grades, scores, and underlying data compilations belong to GradeMyCar. NHTSA data is public information provided by the U.S. government.
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, merchantability, or fitness for a particular purpose. We do not guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GradeMyCar's total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including any loss related to a vehicle purchase.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date above. Continued use of the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
